BASIC INFORMATION
• LPG/Air mixers are used in the event of gas cutouts due to programmed outages or for repair-maintenance reasons in facilities using natural gas, which cannot tolerate an interruption of the gas supply. In these mixers, LPG is mixed with air to obtain a fuel equivalent to natural gas, which is sent to points of gas use.
• For companies using a constant supply schedule of natural gas, in the event of a drop in gas pressure in conditions of excessive demand or in the event of a capacity reductions requested by the main gas distribution company, etc., the system is used to supplement natural gas, preventing interruptions or capacity drops in production.
• The main purpose of using the LPG/Air mixer is to benefit from the appealing prices offered by intermittent gas supply schedules, in addition to preventing possible malfunctions to main gas distribution lines or to main pressure reduction stations from affecting the production process. Unlike companies which can overlook brief interruptions to their production processes, an interruption in gas supply in high capacity baking, and annealing furnaces will cause deactivation of the product that is in the process of being manufactured inside the furnace, and may cause financial losses that are difficult to compensate due to shock cooling in a furnace which requires slow cooldown.
