The leading brand of the heating sector, Çukurova Isı, made important statements about the role of heating systems in the industry in combating the climate crisis within the scope of June 5 World Environment Day.
Stating that old and inefficient heating systems used in the industry play an important role in global warming, Çukurova Isı Marketing Manager Osman Ünlü emphasized that 60 percent of the energy consumed in the industry is used by inefficient heating and cooling systems. Stating that inefficient systems used in the industry should be included in the scope of renovation and radiant heating systems should be preferred instead of traditional systems, Osman Ünlü explained that energy savings of up to 65 percent can be achieved in this way.
While the effects of global warming are rapidly increasing, companies all over the world are aiming to optimize their energy efficiency and reduce their carbon footprint by turning to systems that use energy efficiently. Air conditioning systems, which have a significant share in energy consumption, are at the forefront of these systems. Because nearly 60 percent of the total energy consumed in industrial facilities in Turkey is consumed by inefficient heating and cooling systems. For this reason, old and inefficient heating systems in businesses and industrial facilities threaten energy resources and ecological life.
“Sustainability is at the center of future development and protection plans; because human health and well-being depend on the health of our planet and the adoption of sustainability practices,” said Çukurova Heat Marketing Manager Osman Ünlü, who made a statement on June 5 World Environment Day and made important statements about the role of environmentally friendly heating systems in combating the climate crisis:
“60 percent of the energy consumed in the industry is used in inefficient heating and cooling systems”
“In order to leave a better world for future generations, we care about environmental awareness as much as the quality of our products in our R&D activities. We aim to reduce the carbon footprint of the projects we are a solution partner of by providing high energy efficiency with the radiant heating systems we have developed. However, industrialists have important duties in terms of using these environmentally friendly and efficient technologies. Because old and inefficient heating systems used in the industry play an important role in global warming. We know that 30 percent of the energy consumed in the world is consumed in industry and 60 percent of the energy consumed in industry is used by inefficient heating and cooling systems.
65 percent energy savings can be achieved with renovation”
If inefficient systems used in industry are included in the scope of renovation and radiant heating systems are preferred instead of traditional systems, up to 65 percent energy savings can be achieved from heating costs. Thus, it is possible to reduce the effects of CO2 emissions that may occur due to excessive energy consumption on the climate crisis, which has become a global problem,” he said.
With Radiant Heating; advantage in initial investment, installation and operation
In his speech, Osman Ünlü also emphasized that radiant heating systems used in industries are much more advantageous than classical heating systems:
“Radiant heating systems used in industrial facilities are much more advantageous than classical heating systems in initial investment, installation and operation. Because radiant heating systems do not require transfer elements such as pipes and channels as in classical systems. In this way, the initial investment cost is 25-30 percent lower than classical systems on average. It is also quite advantageous in terms of operating expenses. With radiant heating systems, there is no heat loss due to transfer elements. The radiant heater does not aim to heat the air as in classical systems, but heats the designated areas within the space. Therefore, although it varies according to factors such as the height of the facility where the application will be made and the insulation status, energy costs are also 30-65 percent lower than classical systems. However, in order to provide high energy efficiency with radiant heating systems in industrial facilities, correct projecting, in other words, the system must be selected in the right capacities and correctly designed and implemented according to the factory’s layout plan.
Free exploration and project service
As Çukurova Isı, we support sustainable life by encouraging the use of efficient heating systems in industrial facilities with the free exploration and project service we offer for renovation projects,” he concluded.
