The industrial sector, which accounts for 41.2 percent of Turkey’s total energy consumption, continues to invest in renewable energy to increase production efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of production processes.
Speaking on June 5th, World Environment Day, Çukurova Heat Marketing Manager Osman Ünlü said, “The increase in renewable energy use in industry is increasing the demand for electric heaters. This is because industrialists aim to reduce their environmental footprint by using electricity from renewable sources in a variety of areas, particularly heating systems. Therefore, central air conditioning systems, which we call traditional systems, are being replaced by electric heaters, which minimize the environmental impact of heating. ” he said.
According to a statement by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the manufacturing industry will account for the largest share of total energy use in 2023, at 41.2 percent. The industrial sector, where energy consumption is high, is finding solutions to increase production efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of production processes by installing solar power plants (SPPs) on factory roofs or on land elsewhere. The next goal of industrial facilities investing in renewable energy is to replace traditional heating systems. In this context, industrialists are turning to next-generation, low-carbon technologies that use electricity efficiently.
Speaking on World Environment Day (June 5th), Çukurova Heat Marketing Manager Osman Ünlü said, “The manufacturing industry, which accounts for the largest share of Turkey’s total energy consumption, is turning to renewable energy due to rising energy prices and environmental sustainability goals. The European Green Deal, implemented by the European Union (EU), and its component, the ‘Border Carbon Adjustment Mechanism,’ are also rapidly increasing the demand for renewable energy.”
Electric heaters are increasing in demand as renewable energy use increases
The rise in renewable energy use in industry is rapidly increasing demand for electric heaters. Central air conditioning systems, which we call traditional systems, are being replaced by electric heaters that minimize environmental impact. Because the amount spent in industry in Turkey Nearly 50 percent of energy is consumed by inefficient heating and cooling systems. For this reason, industrialists prefer to use electricity from renewable sources in their heating systems.
Inefficient equipment can be replaced with Efficiency Improvement Project (EIP) incentives.
Another reason for the increased demand for electric heaters is the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources‘ Efficiency Improvement Project (EIPP) incentives. With this incentive, industrialists can replace inefficient equipment, such as fans, pumps, heating, and cooling systems that consume high amounts of energy. This program helps businesses reduce their costs by reducing energy consumption and contribute to environmental sustainability, with the government covering 30 percent of the investment cost. Therefore, EIP incentives play a significant role in the increased demand for electric heaters.
Heating 40 percent more efficiently
“As Çukurova Isı, we aim to leave a more livable world for future generations,” said Osman Ünlü, adding that they minimize environmental impact in many areas, especially industrial facilities, warehouses, commercial businesses, and many other areas, with Goldsun electric heaters that use electricity 40 percent more efficiently and intelligently.
