Çukurova Isı Explains the Role of Heating Systems in Combating Climate Change

In order to combat the ever-growing climate change and achieve net zero by 2050, it is critical to switch to energy-efficient systems. Heating and cooling systems are at the forefront of these systems. Because nearly 60 percent of the total energy in Turkey is consumed for heating and cooling purposes in industrial facilities.

Çukurova Heat Marketing Manager Osman Ünlü explained that energy costs in industrial facilities can be saved up to 65 percent with radiant heating systems, contributing to the development of a climate-neutral economy.

Efficient technologies are promising in the fight against climate change, whose negative effects are increasing day by day. Within the scope of the world’s goal in the Paris Agreement to keep the global temperature increase below 2 degrees and, if possible, to 1.5 degrees; it is critical to switch to products and systems that consume less energy and therefore produce less carbon in every area, especially in industrial facilities. Heating and cooling systems, which have a significant share in energy consumption, are at the forefront of these systems.

Stating that the annual increase in CO2 gas in the atmosphere has been 0.4 percent in the last twenty years, Çukurova Heat Marketing Manager Osman Ünlü emphasized that there is an urgent need to switch to energy-efficient systems in order to combat climate change, which is also described as the “problem of the future,” and to achieve net zero by 2050. Osman Ünlü continued his words as follows:

Heating has an important share in energy consumption

“It is estimated that nearly 60 percent of the total energy in Turkey, which imports 75 percent of its energy, is used for heating and cooling in industrial facilities. Replacing old and inefficient heating systems in industrial facilities with radiant heating systems that are highly efficient and provide less energy consumption is of great importance in terms of reducing C02 emissions in a sustainable way. As Çukurova Isı, we aim to provide optimum energy efficiency in industries and businesses by developing systems that use energy resources intelligently and efficiently in order to leave a clean planet for future generations.

Energy savings of up to 65 percent

We also encourage the use of efficient heating systems in industrial facilities with our free survey and project design service offered for renovation projects. These studies are of great importance in terms of both economy and sustainability. Replacing classical heating systems in industrial facilities with radiant heating systems can provide energy savings of up to 65 percent. “As a result of reducing energy consumption, the facility’s CO2 emissions also decrease, thus contributing to the development of a climate-neutral economy,” he concluded.
