Çukurova Isı A.Ş. Sales Manager Kerem ÜNLÜ was the guest of Yıldız Technical University’s Introduction to Engineering course. Kerem ÜNLÜ shared the Turkish air conditioning sector, radiant heating systems, employment opportunities in the sector and his experiences that will contribute to the personal development of students in the course held online due to the pandemic.

Sales Manager Kerem ÜNLÜ, who was the guest of Yıldız Technical University’s Introduction to Mechanical Engineering course on December 03, shared the Turkish air conditioning sector, radiant heating systems, employment opportunities in the sector and his experiences with students in the course. The course held online due to the pandemic was held with the participation of 200 mechanical engineering students.

“Sometimes, opportunities that will determine your career may come your way while you are at university”

Kerem ÜNLÜ, who stated that the formula for sustainable development is studies focusing on university-industry cooperation, stated that universities play a critical role in global technology competition. He emphasized that students, as well as industrialists, should evaluate the conditions well in order for universities and industry to establish a sustainable relationship based on the principle of mutual benefit. In this context, ÜNLÜ, who made guiding suggestions for future professionals, continued his words as follows: “The information you learn in theory is not enough for a successful career, definitely evaluate the part-time work opportunities that may come your way during this period and try not to stay away from the industry. Because sometimes the opportunities that will determine your career may come across you while you are still at university.

You have a great responsibility to develop your skills and competencies during your university education. For example, I recommend that you learn English very well; because even if you know German at a fair you attend in Germany today, you speak 80% English. I also recommend that you take advantage of programs such as Erasmus or IAESTE to broaden your horizons and get an education abroad.

“Learning coding is very valuable for engineers”

Now, it is a matter of integrating artificial intelligence into all business processes. In this context, learning coding is very valuable for engineers. Being able to use programs such as Python and Java that enable communication with machines will also add value to you,” he said.

Answering students’ questions at the end of the lesson, Kerem ÜNLÜ shared his pleasure in being able to guide Yıldız students.
